Look who’s coming

"I can't think of a more exhausting yet satisfying job than making magazines. It's great to finally meet a bunch of other nerds who get a kick out of pics, paper and prints."

Robert Thiemann (Amsterdam / Netherlands)
Editor-in-Chief of Frame and Mark magazine
www.framemag.com, www.mark-magazine.com

"Oslo had one shop featuring all international magazines when I grew up in the 80s. I spent one hour there every day and it ended when I was thrown out. Later I could buy all those titles and finally I started my own magazine with Stéphanie Dumont in 2001. I am looking forward to Colophon, as I expect to re-experience the good feeling of entering that childhood magazine shop again."

Karl E. Haug (Oslo / Norway)
Editor-in-chief Carl's Cars
www.carls-cars.com

“I can't wait to experience the collision of so many great magazines. The smell of ink will be heavy in the air."

Bill Douglas (Toronto / Canada)
Art Director, Coupe
www.coupe-mag.com

“Colophon2007 is a brilliant opportunity to expose Omagiu to a greater audience and in person,
at a time when Sibiu and Luxembourg are both European Capitals of Culture.”

Ioana Isopescu (Bucharest / Romania)
Publisher, Omagiu Magazine
www.omagiu.com

"Colophon2007 is a life before it has really started, the buzz can be heard already. Can't wait to talk and discuss and be creative with all magazine makers."

Patricia Dolman (Amsterdam / Netherlands)
Paper Consultant M-real
www.m-real.com

“After 2 years in Barcelona, this new initiative for magazines, creatives and other professionals will make of Luxembourg the hotspot for new contacts and growth of the world's creative agenda.”

www.creativehothouse.com

“Twenty five years ago I was told by one of my professors ‘Print is Dead'. Twenty-five years later I continue to enjoy my hobby, education, and profession in this dead industry. Colophon 2007 is to me more than "We Love Magazines," it is a celebration that print magazines are  alive and kicking...and that Today is the real golden age of magazines...because print is not the limit...just the beginning...the future is now... Come share the love."

Samir A. Husni (Memphis / USA)
www.mrmagazine.com

“Email and the internet are great ways to exchange knowledge and experience, but nothing beats meeting people face to face. Colophon2007 is the chance to do just that. It ' s a unique opportunity to spend a weekend in the company of people that share your passion for magazines.”

Jeremy Leslie (London / UK)
Group Creative Director of John Brown; Editor of magCulture, a blog dedicated to news on magazine culture and industry www.johnbrowngroup.co.uk www.magCulture.com/blog

“Magazine making made me a freak among my friends and neighbours. Fortunately, now there's Colophon 2007 so that for 3 complete days I won't feel alone in the world. Thanks so much.”

Luis Mendo (Amsterdam / Netherlands)
Art Director, Good Inc.
www.goodinc.nl

“CMYK in Barcelona (2005) was a great experience and opportunity to meet editors, designers and people interested in magazine culture. I have the impression that Colophon will be even bigger than CMYK and full of new impulses and ideas. We will come along with a bunch of interesting publications such as the bastard-project and the slanted magazine. I expect to talk to publishers for cooperation projects, see designers and typography nerds. And I hope that a bunch of people will make it on late Sunday at 6:00 pm to our speech "Killing White Space: about paper murderers and print-junkies". See you!

Lars Harmsen (Karlsruhe / Germany)
Editor of Design- and typeblog Slanted.de and magazine Slanted
www.slanted.de

High End Magazine Importer, Consultant for publishers on distribution
